The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is the fourth largest academic entity at Arizona State University. The institute encompasses dynamic, knowledgeable individuals who work together to make it a comfortable and exciting environment for thriving students. We welcome newcomers and invite you to explore the employment opportunities within our institute.

The evolution of the School of Film, Dance and Theatre is a story of deep history and diversity of effort. Most recently, the School took on its combined form when the School of Theatre and Film and the School of Dance united to form this new body, which the Arizona Board of Regents approved in April 2013 after a unanimous vote by both faculties on the merits of unification. In this new configuration, the Film, Dance and Theatre programs can offer the broadest exposure to all the disciplines of the stage and screen in one innovative, wildly-productive central hub.

The School of Film, Dance and Theatre educates and advises students in the literatures, theories, histories, and practices of contemporary filmmaking, theatrical performance, dance, and related fields. Our teaching, research, creative activity, and professional service enrich the cultural life of the University, the community, the state, and the region, extending beyond our borders; and move the arts of theatre, dance, and film production into the future by building on their diverse histories and cultural contexts.

The faculty, students and graduates at ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts are inventing the jobs and the businesses of the future; reimagining how design, art and culture get made and distributed; and coming up with new platforms and technology for the exchange of culture and the enrichment of the human experience.

We are dedicated to the following design principles:
