Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing
The ASU Art Museum is looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing to lead its communications and marketing efforts. This role will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive strategy that enhances the museum’s visibility, aligns with its mission, and supports its programming. This position will collaborate closely with museum leadership and other departments to create impactful campaigns that increase visitor attendance, membership engagement, and community awareness.
Key responsibilities include developing and managing marketing initiatives for exhibitions, educational programs, and public events, as well as overseeing internal and external communications. The Assistant Director of Communications will lead and mentor a team, manage cross-functional project timelines, and ensure a seamless flow of information across the museum. Budget management is essential, as this role will allocate resources to maximize the return on investment for marketing and communication initiatives.
Additionally, this position will oversee the museum’s digital presence, including website design, social media, and email marketing, ensuring adherence to ASU’s brand and style guidelines. They will establish and maintain metrics dashboards to track progress, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions. Other responsibilities include developing PR strategies, building relationships with press and external partners, and maintaining compliance with ASU’s branding standards. A strong background in design and digital content creation is essential, as the Assistant Director of Communication will not only create design but also manage the creation of visual materials and guide external design vendors.
This role offers a mix of on-site and work-from-home flexibility, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities based on exhibition and program schedules. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in strategic communications, team leadership, project management, budget oversight, and a deep understanding of digital and social media platforms to this multifaceted role.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $96,000; DOE
