Develop a deep understanding of the photographic image as an artform and personal creative process through engaged online platforms and dynamic learning communities while being mentored by award-winning faculty.
Arizona State University's online BFA program in digital photography emphasizes contemporary, creative and expressive forms of photography.
In this program, students learn about the relationships between technique, concept and aesthetics and how each element contributes to meaning in the photographic image. Through learning the tools of photography; reflecting on contemporary practitioners; and studying the history and theories of photography along with extensive critique with peers, professors and mentors, students are encouraged to rigorously probe their interests and passions as they develop a deep understanding of their own creative process and potential. The program culminates with a capstone class where students are able to apply what they have learned to create a self-designed final project and portfolio.
