The new University Gateway Building is a 128,000-square-foot space on the western edge of ASU's Tempe campus that features state-of-the-art facilities for music, music therapy, art, animation, photography and more.

Students have access to darkrooms, creative makerspaces, the ASU Esports Lounge, expansive computer labs and cutting-edge 3D printing technology, all serving the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. The University Gateway Building also supports sound research, sound labs, stop-motion and motion capture studios. The music department provides acoustically isolated and tuned private practice rooms and larger ensemble practice rooms in the expansion. This space serves the Herberger Institute, including the School of Art; The GAME School; The Design School; and the School of Music, Dance and Theatre.

The ground floor of the five-story building offers retail and dining options, welcoming both the public and the ASU community.
