Faculty Associate - Industrial Design
The Industrial Design Program on the Tempe campus at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associates to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus.
The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person, remote, online, or a combination of those course structures. They will prepare course materials, respond to and evaluate student work, and be available for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes). Faculty Associates positions are one semester, non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE.
The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. Individuals hired as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Salary is based on qualifications and assigned teaching load.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2 years of industry experience or a Master’s degree in a relevant field, OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
- Professional experience working in design industries and/or teaching experience at the college level.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the baccalaureate or graduate (if applicable) level
- Demonstrated knowledge of design methodologies and practice
