Curator of Culture and Community Relations
Reporting to the Director, the Curator of Culture & Community Relations holds the ASU Art Museum staff, programs, operations, and mission accountable to the communities it serves. Centering the needs of underrepresented and marginalized voices in the arts, the CC&CR leads the Museum in its efforts to learn, adapt and practice what it means to be a truly inclusive museum that deploys the power of artistic expression to contribute to peoples’ wellbeing.
This is a grant/gift funded position called Leadership in Art Museums (LAM) that provides, “funding to museums to increase racial equity in leadership roles such as curators, conservators, collections managers, community engagement staff, educators and other senior leaders in a manner designed to advance racial equity.” LAM will build on past and existing efforts to create more racial equity in leadership roles across the art museum field. This position will serve as a key member of the museum team, and will collaborate with colleagues across the institution & the community to develop a plan to champion diversity, equity and inclusion.
