Leigha began her professional career as an e-commerce retail buyer before transitioning into event coordination and management. She works at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University as graduate programs events coordinator. She received a BA in Design Management from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University. She sought out the MA in Creative Enterprise and Cultural to build upon her past professional experience while gaining the skills necessary to develop her own creative enterprise. As part of her Applied Project, Leigha launched a wedding décor items resale market to provide direct opportunities for individuals to purchase gently used items from one another. The AZ Resale Wedding Market is the only local opportunity intermixing individual and professional vendors to make wedding decor items more accessible and affordable through upcycling.
What is something you’ve learned in the Mike Curb MA in Creative Enterprise and Cultural Leadership program that will shape your future work?
I have learned so many things during my education in the Mike Curb MA in Creative Enterprise and Cultural Leadership program that I have already applied in my career. The concept of social entrepreneurship is especially fascinating and has completely changed the way I view revenue generation in the non-profit sector. I have already applied these economic strategies in my work at ASU and I look forward to further developing my knowledge of this subject.
