Megan Workmon Larsen is a researcher, student affairs practitioner, musician, and artist. Megan is interested in how individuals work together to build community, utilize inspiration as a way to find motivation, learn how to navigate failure and embrace risk, and collaborate across disciplines to create positive change. Megan is currently at the Arizona State University Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts as the Director of Student Engagement, overseeing student-facing initiatives and instructing interdisciplinary courses centered around arts-based approaches for transformational learning.
Megan received her Bachelor of Music from The Boston Conservatory, her Master of Education from the University of Southern California, and her doctorate in education and innovation from Arizona State University. Crossing the disciplines of education, creativity, and arts disciplines, her research areas of interest incorporate aspects of risk, fear, failure, creativity, student engagement, higher education, positive psychology, design thinking, creative/arts-based methodology, and persistence/resiliency.
