Biography

Kimberlee Swisher is a lecturer in the school of Arts, Media and Engineering (AME), and co-director of the Digital Culture Summer Institute, a 3-week summer program for kids 12 to 18. She graduated from ASU with a Master of Music in Composition and Interdisciplinary Digital Media and Performance. Shes broadly interested in the assessment and careful crafting of technologys influence on culture and youth, especially at the intersection of play, sound, and embodied experiences for pedagogical purposes; for example, modifying off-the-shelf motion capture gaming devices into unique gestural instruments and installations.

She loves working with kids and learners of all ages. In addition to teaching at the university level, has taught K-12 music and technology and developed curriculum for several schools and after-school programs in California and Arizona.
