Jeffery Meyer, associate professor in the School of Music, will be teaching at the St. PCP Ninth International Masterclass "European Masterworks" in St. Petersburg, Russia along with Mark Stringer, professor of orchestral conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. The class will include young conductors from the U.S., Turkey, Singapore, the Netherlands and Russia.
While in St. Petersburg, Meyer will also give conducting masterclasses at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, one of the most important institutions for conducting pedagogy in the world. Afterward, he will return to the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra as guest conductor in two diverse programs.
