Xiaoying Wen was a candidate in the Doctor of Musical Arts program in piano performance where he studied with Baruch Meir. He was working on his final recital and doctoral project, which he planned to focus on the interpretation of Scriabin's piano works. Wen was tragically killed in an accident on Nov. 16, 2017.
Wen graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned a Master of Music degree in piano performance and the Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
As a soloist, he was the winner of the Missouri State MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition and held many recitals in his young career.
This memorial concert will celebrate this wonderful artist and his many contributions.
