Public Articulation: An Artist Talk with Cog•nate Collective

During this presentation, binational Alta/Baja California-based Cog•nate Collective will speak about their community-embedded practice, which seeks to foster critical reflection and incite dialogue in everyday public spaces, establishing and expressing solidarity across, in spite and against political delimitations.

Founded in 2010, Cog•nate Collective has sited their work primarily within markets to analyze how popular and informal forms of cultural and economic exchange taking place between transnational communities can be mobilized in defiance of solidifying political boundaries like the U.S./Mexico border.

Presented by CALA Alliance, ASU Art Museum and ASU School of Film, Dance and Theatre's Performance in the Borderlands.
