numero: Faivovich and Goldberg

Dec. 6–May 4 (Hours vary)

Since 2006, Guillermo Faivovich and Nicolas Goldberg, the Argentinian contemporary artist duo, have been engaged in an intensive and wide-ranging research project — "A Guide to Campo del Cielo" — that forms the basis of their practice. Campo del Cielo is located in northern Argentina and was the site of a meteor shower an estimated 4,000 years ago.

For this exhibition, 12 unique prints further the artists’ current line of research examining a meteorite.  New images are harvested from thinly sliced sections of the meteorite under a petrographic microscope, an expedition to reveal the stunningly brilliant and mysterious silicate inclusions.

Located in the Design and the Arts Library, this exhibit is part of the Visual LIT series, a collaboration between ASU Art Museum and ASU Libraries and is supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation, Helme Prinzen Endowment, ASU Design and the Arts Library, and Paramo Galeria.

Visit the library website for directions and hours. Generally, library hours are Monday to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Also on view: "The Tower of Knowledge" at Hayden Library and "Decomiso" at ASU Art Museum.
