A Net for Catching Water: Layne Farmer
Exhibition runs Feb. 1-10.

This exhibition showcases a group of mid to large-scale abstract paintings. The title comes from a lecture by mid-century philosopher and writer Alan Watts in which he uses the phrase as an analogy to describe the futile efforts of an anxiety-ridden Western society to control every aspect of our lives along with the natural world.
The work in this exhibition is a response to such tendencies — acceptingly vulnerable, curiously inscrutable and openly susceptible to the spontaneity of nature.
