Music Interlude Series Presents the ASU Pan Devils Steel Band
April 25, 10:30 a.m.

Join the Arizona State University Pan Devils Steel Band for a concert of the energetic sounds of the West Indies showcasing the steel drum.
Founded in 1991 by J.B. Smith, director of percussion studies, the Pan Devils Steel Band in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music has entertained campus, public school and community audiences throughout the state.
The steel drum, or pan, is a unique musical instrument that has its origins in Trinidad. Beginning with a 55-gallon oil drum, the creation of a steel drum includes pounding and tempering with fire and water, then painstakingly grooving each note into the metal.
Tickets are $7 for general admission or free with admission to the Museum.
