APH 294 – Culture of Place
Culture of Place explores contemporary conditions in the built environment as they are shaped by cultural phenomena. In particular, this course investigates aspects of the built environment that often are not recognized as designed or intentional. The shape and character of our built environment plays a significant role in orienting and directing the course of our lives and that of the society in which we live.

Understanding of art and its relationship to everyday life through painting, sculpture, architecture, and design. No credit for Art majors or non-Art majors who have completed ARS 101 or 102 or 300.

Explore the fascinating civilization of ancient Egypt from the Pre-dynastic to the Greco-Roman Period.
ART 494 – Body Tech Performance
The first week of class will be an on-line lesson. Students will explore emergent electronic technologies for performance and installation framed by the theme Lunar Outpost. Interactive technologies offer the means to extend, manipulate and color our environments in a new manner. We will look at how interactive systems for physical performance and environmental installation could supplement and augment conditions experienced in extreme environments like the moon. Students will work with Arduino microcontrollers and blue-tooth technologies to create networked sensor systems for the control of lights, video projection and sound.

Surveys theatre production from the Greeks to contemporary theatre. Prerequisites: Non-Theatre majors only.
THE 405 – Great Comedy Films (HU)
Examines processes and influences of one or more great film performers and/or directors. May be repeated for credit when topics vary. Fee (hybrid/Internet). Prerequisites: Must have completed ENG102, ENG105 or ENG108 with a C or greater.
THP 101 – Acting Introduction
Introduces basic principles of acting. Topics include terminology, scene and character analysis, exercises and improvisation, audition preparation. Course is designed for non-majors.
THP 311 – Improvisation with Youth
Basic materials, techniques, and theories for facilitating improvisational drama with children and youth. Prerequisite: sophomore standing or above.
THP 312 – Puppetry with Children
Construction and manipulation of puppets; practice in performance skills. Emphasizes educational and recreational uses of puppetry by and with children. Fee. Prerequisite: Junior standing or above.
THP 387 – Acting: TV and Film
Professional television and film acting techniques, terminology, and on-camera experience. Fee. Prerequisites: Must have completed THP101 or THP102 with a B or greater OR must be a Film and Media Production major.
THP 494 – Movement, Observation, Vision, Experimentation
