Grisha Coleman, assistant professor of movement, computation and digital media in the School of Arts, Media + Engineering and affiliate faculty in the School of Film, Dance and Theatre, both in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, has been selected as the fourth annual Mohr Visiting Artist, hosted by the Stanford University Department of Theater and Performance Studies.

  • Congratulations to Ross Lewicki, senior in jazz studies, for winning the external reviewer’s award for his composition, "The Misodoctackleidist"; Chris Light, sophomore engineering major, for winning the faculty choice award for his composition, "Insomnia"; and, Shane Maule, senior jazz studies major, for winning the student choice award for his composition, "Heavy Rain," in the ASU School of Music's fourth annual student jazz composition competition.

  • Guitars for Vets
    The first Arizona State University student veterans to complete the 10-week Guitars for Vets program, Jonathan Jameson and Jason Smith were presented with the stringed instruments by professor Mark von Hagen, director for ASU’s new Office of Veteran and Military Academic Engagement.

    With a wide range of college programs already in the downtown Phoenix area, Arizona State University has decided their graduate art students will be next. These students are given a whole new warehouse of tools and a new environment to creatively fill, all while trying to make a distinct impact on the downtown community.
