The Herberger Institute Research Center is actively engaged in ASU President Michael Crow’s vision of ASU as the New American University. Embedded in the university design imperatives of Impact, Access, and Excellence, are the tenants of an educational organization that challenges faculty to be a force for discovery, inspires students to become thought leaders who will shape the future and conducts research by considering its impact on the public good. Such use-inspired research strives to improve the human condition through the appropriate application of knowledge and creative talents. Through the expertise of the faculty in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, these efforts are manifested in a wide range of scientific research, applied projects, and creative practice.
