Phoenix Transect documents the Valley of the Sun in boom time and bust. The culmination of 3 years of work by ASU undergraduate and graduate students in Professor Mark Klett’s field study course examines the Phoenix metropolitan area and the lives of its residents from the Papago Buttes to the modern light-rail transit system. Images depict the once mighty Salt River’s enduring but fragile riparian areas and the even more fragile lives of homeowners threatened with foreclosure.
