ASU School of Music celebrates the music of the great German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen presenting a two-event festival of his masterworks. This first concert features solo works performed by Robert Spring, clarinet; Timothy McAllister, saxophone; Simone Mancuso, percussion; Luca Congedo, percussion and Robert Essler, vibes. Also, Ben Levy Professor of Music Theory/Composition discusses the composer. Stockhausen, one of the most innovative avant-garde composers of this century contributed significantly to the formulation of serial music and was one of the pioneers of electronic music |
