Using your ASUrite and password, the Web Service Request Form enables you to open a helpdesk ticket and track or monitor the progress of your request. For all your help desk requests, provide computer support with your name, location, the best way to contact you and a brief description of the problem. Computer support tries to respond within 24 hours, however, during peak periods, response time may exceed 24 hours.

Hardware
We support all computer hardware purchased with ASU or ASU related funds. Personal computers not the property of ASU but used for ASU activities do not qualify for support. Requests for a new computer should be made through the Herberger Institute Computing Support team.  If you are in the process of procuring hardware equipment for your unit, please refer to the HIDA Purchasing Guidelines.

Systems and Application Support
We support all computer hardware purchased with ASU or ASU-related funds. Personal computers not the property of ASU but used for ASU activities do not qualify for support. Requests for a new computer should be made through the Herberger Institute Computing Support team.

Server Support
The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts server farm, currently located in the Engineering B Building, supports 28 servers used by both the college and HerbergerOnline. It holds several stand-alone databases, shared application, administrative data and any course materials that support HerbergerOnline courses and services.

An exchange account is required for access to the college's file servers. Faculty and staff may self-subscribe.

Students are required to fill out a Request for Computer Access.

Please contact the college computer support team when a new employee is hired, so a folder can be created on the server and file permission granted. Also contact the team when an employee leaves, so file permissions can be deleted.

Networking
Computer support responds to calls for installation of Ethernet and IP address management. Tampering with IP or hardware addresses through Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, firewalls, masquerading, etc. is prohibited. This university policy is outlined in ACD 125: Computer, Internet, and Electronic Communications

For assistance with dial-up networking, please contact University Technology Office (UTO) Help desk at 480.965.6500.
